Re: Super Science Stories for Time-Traveler |
Thanks Gerry,
I got some mates I will forward the link to as well.
With the swine flu, no more going out and about, we need all the reading possible.
As for my PS and PM magazine scans, I have a HP scanner, which I lay over the documents or books, so I am making something to position the magazine, and hold the pages flat.
BTW since most books in a physical library have hard surface covers, and the flu bug can live up to 48-hours on a hard surface, what are those library's going to do?
It might well hurry up all library's going on line with their newest current books, maybe restricted to one reader at a time for each book to keep the publishers happy, and restricted to just the members living in the library's district.

Re: Super Science Stories for Time-Traveler |
I'd just like to say how much I appreciate the marvellous hard work and fantastic pulps you've put out. I'd also like to invite scanners to a pulp scanning group that's gradully scanning 100s of SF, F and supernatural pulps that are literally falling apart in basements. They are of course, in the public domain! They already have 192 Amazing Stories.
send a e-mail to me at "bopjosson" at "hotmail. com"
witht he headline "PULPS"
thanks again

Re: Super Science Stories for Time-Traveler |
Time-traveler,
I cut most of my stuff apart, it makes for a better scan and ultimately much better OCR when creating full-text versions.
99% of the stuff I put up was from my book collection, or lately I am buying stuff real cheap from ebay. I have some ps and pm editions and will be cutting those apart after scanning the spine and both covers. I also have a large collection of installation, service and operation manuals going back to the 1920's which I am scanning in. They usually get the same traetment as the pulps.

Re: Super Science Stories for Time-Traveler |
Time Traveler,
Yes I had to read most of it, took a while to finish it. The next ones I will try to do without reading them. I have several hundre puls going back to the 1920's. Intereting stuff in some of them; almost all not under copyright.

Sorry, mistaken identity, I had deleted your original Attn Time Traveller message months ago without reading, because I had decided to ignore personal attacks.
Will be in touch soon.
